I Must Admit

I was addicted to Farmville. Bad. I know it sounds weird, lame, stupid, whatever you want to think. But, I love playing it. I don't have to think about anything else.

However, I was really addicted. There were points on certain weekends that I made Rian and Cameron wait to go places or make them come home early so that I could farm. So I decided to take off the entire month of April from farming to see if I could do it. I did.

Now, I think that I am going to quit for good. During my month off, I finished crocheting two blankets, read a few books, and had more time for Rian.

Now, I just need to make myself quit getting the updates. I am still working up some courage for that.

Vaccinations

I know this is a topic under fire, however Cameron has all of his and got them regularly. Including the Flu shot and H1N1. I work with a bunch of dirty, gross, sick children. Of which, 8 have had H1N1! 8 STUDENTS IN MY CLASS! I am not going down with that yucky sickness, and I am not letting my family go down with it either.

Here is a post my friend BECKY wrote about the topic. I couldn't agree more. In fact, I wrote an open letter to the person that she is referring to in this blog post. Here is a copy of it, (with names changed for protection) for your enjoyment:

Open letter to Amy:
Well, I hope your kid doesn't get measles and die someday. Or pass it on to a bunch of kids and then it mutates and kills even more people including all of the children

Also Amy, remember when you stabbed your leg because Kevin Arnold dumped you? I do. I bet you were glad you got that tetanus shot because you used a dirty knife to stab your leg.

Regards, Jennifer

Farter

I have a student in class who is a farter (or a tooter as Elaine prefers). The first TWO times it was pretty funny. Especially because this student will totally own up to the fact that it is him. The first time he did it and owned it, I laughed so hard I cried. The second time I still giggled, but now, it is getting old and kind of annoying. I would say that he has done this in my class now around 10 times. Now it bothers me and I think it bothers a few other kids. Do I tell him to stop? Do I take him out in the hall and say please stop tooting in my class? Oh man....help please.

Next Time

Please remind me of this next time I decide to cut my hair short. Resend me this post, send me a nasty email, tell me I am a moron, whatever. Just do it.

Reese is one classy lady. I am going blond when my hair gets back to me.

Can you go wrong with long loose waves? I think not.

This is a beautiful long hair updo via Sandra Bullock. She is one of my favorite famous people. So gorgeous and classy and I think that if I met her we would be instant besties.

My other FAVORITE movie star. Kate Winslet. The girl doesn't take a wrong step. Ever.

Does anyone watch So You Think You Can Dance? Cat Deeley is the host and her hair always looks fabulous.

Please don't let the braid go out of style before my hair gets long again. Is it out of style already?

One more of Lauren. Hot.

Sticking with The Hills girls, Kristen's hair always looks beautiful to me. Even when she is laying in bed with Justin Bobby after a long night of....gambling....or something like that in Sin City.

I have NEVER been a fan of Jennifer Love Hewitt's hair. This was a RECENT hairdo at the Emmy's. Are you kidding me JLove? This looks 80s Prom at best.

Carrie Prejean Sucks

There are PLENTY of reasons not to like this girl. I mean PLENTY. But, on the Today Show the other morning, Meredith Vieira was interviewing her. Carrie was talking about when she met Donald Trump for the first time. Her words, "And then the Donald came down and meeted us." Meeted you? Aren't gay bashing-sex tape wielding-Sarah Palin loving-beauty queens supposed to speak proper english on TV? I thinked so Carrie, I thinked.

(Did I mention the word on the street is that this girl released her own sex tape for a little press for the book she just wrote? Did I mention the girl got fake boobs to help her win? Did I mention Sarah Palin is her hero?)

A Timeline the Today Show did on this idiot:
Dec. 22, 2008
Carrie Prejean is crowned Miss California USA. After she wins the title, and before she represents her state at the Miss USA pageant, Miss California USA officials pay for Prejean’s breast-enhancement surgery.
April 19, 2009
Prejean finishes first runner-up at the Miss USA pageant broadcast live from the Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. She raises the ire of judge Perez Hilton by stating her opposition to same-sex marriage. Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton is crowned Miss USA.
April 20
Perez Hilton blisters Prejean on his blog and calls her a vulgar name.
April 26
Kristen Dalton, now the new Miss USA, defends Prejean's statement on same-sex marriage during an interview with TODAY's Al Roker.
April 27
Prejean gets a hero’s welcome at The Rock Church, an evangelical mega-church in suburban San Diego. She tells the congregation that she was pressured by Miss California pageant officials not to discuss her Christian faith and to apologize for her statements on same-sex marriage.
April 30
Prejean tells TODAY’s Matt Lauer she will continue to fight for “traditional marriage.” She also confirms that she has filmed an ad for the National Organization for Marriage and has agreed to be a spokesperson for the group. Miss California officials release a statement criticizing her for becoming so deeply involved in a “divisive and polarizing issue.”
May 1
Miss California pageant officials confirm that they paid for Prejean’s breast-enhancement surgery.
May 4
The gossip site thedirty.com publishes one photo of Prejean posing topless in pink panties and says it has five more photos in the set. Prejean is shown covering her breasts with her arm in the photo.
May 5
Prejean issues a statement defending the photo. She says she was 17 when they were taken and that they are from a model shoot.
May 6
Pageant officials cite rules prohibiting Miss California from posing nude or semi-nude and from representing outside organizations and say they are discussing whether to strip Prejean of her crown.
May 11
At a Beverly Hills press conference, Miss California USA officials say it's up to Miss USA pageant owner Donald Trump whether or not Prejean should be stripped of her crown.
May 12
At a press conference, Donald Trump announces that Prejean will retain the title of Miss California USA. He also commends her for speaking her mind about same-sex marriage during the Miss USA Pageant.
May 13
On TODAY, Prejean admits there might be more racy photos of her; Trump defends his decision. Meanwhile, Miss California pageant co-director Shanna Moakler resigns from her post, saying that she had lost faith in the organization because of Trump's decision to let Prejean keep the crown.
June 10
Carrie Prejean is stripped off her Miss California title less than a month after Donald Trump announced she would retain it, and commended her for speaking her mind about same-sex marriage. The Miss California USA organization cited Prejean’s unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of them, in violation of her contract, and said that they had Trump’s approval in terminating her.
June 12
Two days after being stripped of her title, Carrie Prejean disputes pageant director Keith Lewis’s claim that she failed to meet her contractual obligations as Miss California, saying that she was instead fired for her stand on same-sex marriage at the Miss USA pageant. "I'm here talking to you because of the answer I gave on that stage," she tells TODAY's Matt Lauer.
July 20
Prejean inks a book deal with conservative book house Regnery Publishing. Her memoir will be called "Still Standing" and will tell her side of the story, according to the publisher.
Aug. 31
Prejean sues pageant officials for libel, slander and religious discrimination, accusing them of telling her to stop mentioning God even before her controversial remarks against gay marriage.
Oct. 19
The franchise that operates the Miss California organization countersues Prejean.
Nov. 3
After a Prejean "sex tape" surfaces, Prejean drops her suit and settles with pageant officials, who reportedly paid her $100,000 to go toward her legal expenses.
Nov. 10
Prejean appears on TODAY and defends the recently surfaced erotic video of her as a youthful indiscretion. She also says negative things about pageant owner Donald Trump and discusses her book, "Still Standing."

Follow Up on the Bed Sitch (as in situation)

I sent her an email. She sent one back. Here they are:

Hi Becky,

I just wanted to let you know that we are still holding the furniture for you. If I don't hear back from you by tomorrow afternoon, I am going to repost it. Let me know!

Jenn

Jenn

I completely understand....I am sorry this is the circumstances we have found ourselves in. Please take care of you and your families needs first. That is the right thing to do under these circumstances. If I know anything either way, I will let you know.

Again, I apologize for this situation.

Becky

WTF? My new theory is that they spent all the money for the bed on the drugs that they are obviously doing. Any new theories?

I am Pissed, Rian is Not

Story:

We decided we never totally liked our bedroom furniture, so we decided to sell it on First Class. First Class is the school district's intranet. They have a For Sale, Wanted, For Rent, etc section that you can post things to, or shop around. I posted our furniture for a SCREAMING deal two weeks ago. I got about 5 hits, one big one. A lady (about 35-40) and her boyfriend came to look. They are moving in together and wanted to get new furniture. A few days later, they send me an email that says they will take it. She calls me this Wednesday and says they have rented a truck and will be by on Sunday to pick it all up between 1 and 2.

Yesterday, Rian and I get up, take apart all of the furniture, move it downstairs and clean it all so that it is nice, new and easy for the new owners. This process takes us about an hour and a half. It is about 2 o'clock and they aren't there yet, I have a headache, Rian is watching the Broncos. I inadvertently snooze during the game. Wake up and it is 3:30, they still aren't there! So I get frustrated and decide to call her and see what's up. (First, I check my school email to make sure she didn't email me). I call her, this is what I say and what she says back:

Me: Hi this is Jenn and I was wondering if you are still coming for the furniture today?
She: Well Jenn, I wish I knew myself. I know that sounds vague but I have no idea what is going on right now and as soon as I find out I will let you know. Again, sorry that is so vague.
Me: So.....
She: So I will let you know as soon as I find out anything.
Me: (In a tone that is a little shocked and kind of pissed) Alright, well I guess, let me know.
She: Okay bye.

So now what do I do? Do I repost the bed? Do I call or email her? Another side note, I thought she would have called me or emailed me by now 12:23pm on Monday (that is right, my students are taking a test while I blog).

I was REALLY pissed yesterday. I thought it was really rude that she didn't even bother to call. At least call and make up a lie why you can't come.

She: Sorry we can't make it today, there were no trucks or my baby is sick or I am sick or whatever.

Rian was not even mad. He said he thought it was stupid how she was acting, but oh well.

Now, I have all of my furniture sitting in my living and dining room all taken apart. The crappy thing is, what if I want to post it again, it won't look as pretty sitting in a big pile in my living room as it did all put together and clean in my bedroom.

Readers: Why do you think this lady bailed? Here is what I think: Her boyfriend cheated on her and she walked in on him and now they don't need the bedroom set because they aren't moving in together.

My 101 Goals

My friend Elaine made a list of 101 goals to complete in 1,001 days. She made a really cool list, and I really liked the idea, so I made a list too. It comes from a website (check it out here) where there are rules and things to help you get started. I spent ALL DAY yesterday coming up with my list. It is hard because you don't want to add anything to your list that is not something that you would want to do, or something that you don't know why you are doing it. Well, I finished my list at about 11 o'clock last night, and it is now posted on the side of my blog. I will cross off each item when I complete them, and try to update here, on my blog every once in a while. You should think about making your own 101 list, it can be very cool!
