Farter

I have a student in class who is a farter (or a tooter as Elaine prefers). The first TWO times it was pretty funny. Especially because this student will totally own up to the fact that it is him. The first time he did it and owned it, I laughed so hard I cried. The second time I still giggled, but now, it is getting old and kind of annoying. I would say that he has done this in my class now around 10 times. Now it bothers me and I think it bothers a few other kids. Do I tell him to stop? Do I take him out in the hall and say please stop tooting in my class? Oh man....help please.

I don't have any recommendations, I just find this damn funny. Ahh, the life of a teacher.

This is a good description of our jobs. We have to take TEENAGE boys out in the hall to ask them to stop farting. We need raises.

Well in fifth grade we give a farting talk if there is a repeat offender. It is kind of like Everybody Poops. :-) Then ask if you think you're going to fart ask to leave the room. Its different for high schoolers though. I had one kid last year that stunk so bad in the morning I'd go to stand by him and move to take a breath and try it again. I felt awful for the poor kids sitting around him! Sounds like your guy likes the attention.
