911 or Police Station? (by Jenn)

I am waiting for the police to call me and give me some news, hopefully by the time I am done giving you this delightful background story, they will call.

After college when I was back living at home (don't judge me), we had a "suspicious character" in a white van down the street from us. He was there when the little kids were walking to school, so my mom and I were a little worried. So, we called 911. Apparently the police checked it out and the guy checked out. They came and gave my mom and I an update and said that he was "working". The policeman kind of giggled when he was telling us, so my mom managed to get out of him that it was a Private Investigator checking on someones cheating spouse!

Today, Rian walked the dog, and there was a suspicious gold minivan down the street. One the way to work, Rian noticed that the man had a video camera in the back of the car. So I called my sister, to call Mark her father-in-law. He is a fire-chief and I figured he would know if I should call 911 or just the basic police line. He said 911 and they would figure it out. I called, sat down to write this and they called about 10 minutes later. The sheriff called me back and said that he checked it out and that the guy was okay. So I say, "So everything is okay?" The sheriff says, "Yes Mam, he is just working." This leads me to believe it is a cop because I don't think any cop drove down our street to check it out. Maybe they knew he was on my street? Very interesting.
